A perfectly sweet and refreshing glass of peach iced tea is the best drink for a hot summer day. You just need 4 simple ingredients to make this fancy drink at home.
As the temperature is soaring high, it becomes really necessary to keep yourself hydrated. And if you are cutting back on the fizzy and unhealthy drinks, you should definitely try this recipe. This light and fruity summer drink will surely quench your thirst.
To make this at home you need, fresh peaches, loose tea or tea bag of your choice, lemon juice and sugar. Here I have made a mildly sweet ice tea, but you can add more sugar if you like. And you can use any kind of tea in this recipe, like black tea, green tea etc. Here I have used black tea from the brand Tata Tea Gold. If you like your tea to be strong then you may add more tea leaves. And if you like a mild tea then add fewer leaves. Steep the tea for 2-3 minutes only. Otherwise, it can make the tea bitter.
Sipping on a glass of ice-cold tea always cheers me up. And I hope it will cheer you up too. Do give this recipe a try and don’t forget to share your experience with me.
Pour water in a saucepan and bring it to a boil over a high flame.
After it comes to a boil add black tea leaves and sugar. Turn the flame off.
Stir until the sugar dissolves. Let it brew for 2-3 minutes. If you prefer a mild tea, then use fewer tea leaves and also steep it for a shorter duration.
Place a strainer over a large bowl and pour the tea into it. Allow it to cool down to room temperature.
To make the peach puree:
While the tea is cooling down, pour one cup of water in a saucepan and heat it over a high flame.
Add the chopped peaches and give it a quick stir. Bring it to a boil then reduce to a simmer.
Cook the peaches for 4-5 minutes until they become tender. Turn the flame off and keep it aside to cool down.
Add the cooked peaches along with the water, in a blender jar and grind until smooth.
To make peach iced tea:
Pour the peach puree and lemon juice into the tea. Mix everything well.
Pour one cup of cold water into the peach tea mixture and mix well again. Place the bowl in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
Fill the serving glass with ice cubes and pour chilled peach iced tea into it. Garnish with a fresh peach slice. Refreshing peach iced tea is ready to serve.
