How To Cook White Rice

  • 1 cup long-grain rice basmati rice
  • 2 cups water

  • Take rice in a bowl and wash it under running water. Continue rinsing until the water becomes clear. Drain the rice and pour it into a bowl. Add 1 cup water and soak for 30 minutes.
  • Heat 2 cups water in a pot over medium flame. After it comes to a boil, add the rice and give it a gentle stir.
  • Bring it to a boil and lower the flame.
  • Cook for 10-15 minutes or until the rice is fully done. Check the rice by pressing a grain with your fingers. It should be soft and mash easily.
  • Pour the rice into a colander and allow it to sit for 5 minutes.
  • Serve this perfectly cooked rice with any curry of your choice.
