Chilli And Lemon Popcorn

Chilli and lemon popcorn is the perfect snack for a home movie night! It is tangy, crunchy and extremely flavourful. It requires very few ingredients and you can easily whip up this moreish snack in 10 minutes.

Ingredients
  

  • ¼ cup popcorn kernels
  • 1 tbsp butter melted
  • ½ tbsp green chilli deseeded and chopped
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Heat a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium flame. Pour oil and allow it to heat up.
  • Then add the popcorn kernels and stir it well, so that all the kernels are coated with oil. Cover the saucepan with a lid and wait for them to pop.
  • Once the kernels start popping, lower the flame and tip the lid just a touch to allow the steam to escape. Shake the pan a few times to cook the kernels evenly.
  • And when the popping sound slows down to about one pop every few seconds, turn the flame off.
  • Remove the lid and drizzle melted butter over the popcorns. Followed by lemon juice, lemon zest, green chilli and salt. Give it a good toss and pour it into the serving bowl.
  • Serve chilli and lemon popcorn right away. And enjoy it with your favourite movie!
