Ingredients

  • 1.5 cup oats
  • 1.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ cup + 2-3 tbsp butter melted
  • 1 cup strawberry jam

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 180-degree Celsius. Line an 8x6 inches baking tin with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, add oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt. Mix well.
  • Then pour ½ cup melted butter and give it a good mix. Make sure the butter is combined well with the dry mixture.
  • Optional: If the oats mixture looks dry, as in this case, pour 2-3 tablespoons melted butter. And mix again.
  • Add ⅔ of the oats mixture into the lined baking tin. Keep the remaining mixture aside for later use.
  • With the help of a spatula or spoon, spread the mixture in the tin.
  • Then with the back of the spoon or spatula press the mixture down to make a solid crust.
  • Pour strawberry jam over the oats base. Spread it out.
  • Add the remaining oats mixture over the jam. Make sure it is evenly distributed.
  • Place the tin in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until the oats become slightly golden.
  • Then take the tin out of the oven. Allow it to cool down at room temperature for around 40-45 minutes.
  • Once it has cooled down, place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  • Note: Don’t cut it while it’s still hot. As it can be a little messy and the bars might break.
  • After that, take the tin out of the refrigerator. Carefully lift the oats bar out of the tin with the help of the parchment paper.
  • Place it over a chopping board and cut it into squares.
  • Strawberry oats bars are ready to serve!
