Veg Bread Snack Recipe For Iftar

Learn how to make this quick and easy non-fried veg bread snack recipe for Iftar. You can call this snack a bread parcel, pockets or patties recipe. For this, you will require only a few ingredients like bread, paneer, onion and a few spices.

- 5-6 bread slices
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 3 large-sized onions thinly sliced (approximately 2 cups)
- Salt to taste
- 1.5 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- ½ tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 tsp chaat masala powder
- 100 g paneer finely diced (approximately ½ cup)
- Oil for brushing
- 5-6 toothpicks soaked in water
- Tomato ketchup as required
Preheat the oven to 180-degree Celsius for 20 minutes.
Heat a pan over medium flame. Add oil and butter. Allow it to melt.
Add the sliced onions. Give them a toss.
Sprinkle salt and give them a good mix.
Cook until the onions soften and becomes translucent in colour.
Add sugar and mix well. Cook until the onions caramelize.
Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and chaat masala powder. Mix well. Cook for a minute.
Add diced paneer and gently combine everything together.
Turn the flame off. Transfer the onion-paneer filling to a bowl. Allow it to cool down a little.
Then take a slice of bread. Roll it out a little.
Add the filling on one side (watch the video). Fold the other side over. Secure with a toothpick.
Place all the bread parcels/patties over a lined baking tray.
Brush them with oil. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until they a golden and crisp.
Serve them hot with tomato ketchup!
