Method
To melt the white chocolate:
- Take a small microwaveable bowl, add chopped white chocolate, ghee and salt.
- Microwave it for 20 seconds. Then give it a good stir. Check if the chocolate has melted completely. If not, then microwave it again for another 20 seconds.
- After that, the chocolate will become smooth and silky. Make sure you don’t overheat it. Otherwise, it might burn.
- Keep it aside to cool down a little.
To make the popcorn:
- Take a heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat it over a medium flame.
- Then pour ghee or clarified butter and allow it to heat up.
- Once it heats up, add the popcorn kernels. Give it a good stir. Make sure all the kernels are coated with ghee.
- Place the lid over the saucepan and keep it ajar. This will allow the steam to escape. Then wait for them to start popping.
- Once they start popping, lower the flame. Then give it a shake a few times.
- When the popping slows down, turn the flame off. Wait for a few seconds and then open the lid.
To make the white chocolate popcorn:
- Pour the freshly popped popcorns into a large bowl. Drizzle melted chocolate over it. Give it a good mix. Make sure the popcorns are fully coated with the white chocolate.
- Then transfer the white chocolate popcorns to a large plate. If you like then you can line the plate with parchment paper but I didn’t do it. Spread the popcorns out on the plate.
- Top the chocolate popcorns with sprinkles. You can be as generous as you like.
- Place the plate in the refrigerator and let it sit for around 15 minutes. After which the chocolate will harden, then take it out, break them into small pieces and they will be ready to serve.
- Then just pour them in a bowl and enjoy it while watching your favourite movie.
