This creamy and delicious hot chocolate is easy to make and is the perfect drink for Christmas. So indulge yourself this holiday with a cup of rich and silky hot cocoa.
There are so many ways of making hot chocolate. Some people like to add cocoa powder and some like to add actual chocolate. I personally like both. So this time I made hot chocolate with cocoa powder. It is mildly spiced with a hint of cinnamon. And to get that silky smooth texture, I have added a little cornflour. This makes the hot chocolate super creamy without adding actual cream. I hope you’ll give it a try. This recipe is really simple and I’m sure all the ingredients are already available in your pantry. In a medium saucepan, pour milk and add the cinnamon stick. Heat the milk on medium flame.
Bring to a light boil and reduce the flame to medium-low. Then add sugar, cocoa powder and a pinch of salt.
Whisk to combine. Then remove the cinnamon stick and discard.
In a small bowl, mix cornflour with 2 tbsp milk. Then pour the cornflour slurry into the saucepan. Give it a nice mix.
As soon as it starts to thicken, turn the flame off.
Allow it to cool a bit before serving.
Serve this hot chocolate with your favourite cookies.
