Due to the rising COVID-19 cases, many states in India are facing a ban on public Holi celebrations this year. So guys I will request you to stay at home, stay safe and celebrate this festival of colours with your family and close friends. Therefore I will suggest you throw a Holi party at home for your family and celebrate this festival with lots of colours, tasty food and if possible try this vegetarian snack board.

What is a charcuterie board?

Charcuterie, which is pronounced as “shahr-koo-tuh-ree”, is the art of preparing and assembling cured or smoked meat, cheese, nuts, fruits, spreads etc on a wooden board/tray. These charcuterie boards have become really popular in recent times. Many different versions of this board are being created by people. Like cheese board, dessert board, hot chocolate board, breakfast board etc.

What is a snack board/platter?

A snack board/platter is quite similar to a charcuterie board. It consists of a wide variety of finger foods like chips, dip, nuts, chocolate etc. You can basically add any snack of your choice. These snack boards are an excellent option for house parties. You can build a large or small snack board depending upon the number of guests you’ll be entertaining. It is very easy to assemble, doesn’t take much time, totally fuss-free and you don’t have to cook anything (which is the best part). 

Tools for making a snack board:

So to make a snack board you’ll need the following things:

Board/Tray– A serving board or tray is the most important thing in preparing a snack board. You can use a wooden chopping board, a large plate, tray etc. It can be as big or as small as you like. 

Bowls– The second thing that you will need is a bowl or a number of bowls. It can be made of glass, ceramic, metal etc. You can serve dips, sauce, chutneys in these bowls.

Other items– Some other things that you may require are small bowls, plates, spoons etc. It totally depends on what you are serving.

How to build a snack board?

To build a good snack board, keep the following things in mind.

  • Try to add a variety of flavours like sweet, salty, spicy and tangy.
  • These snacks should be easy to grab and mess-free.
  • Before planning the board, keep in mind the diet preference of the people to whom you’ll be serving.

Ingredients:

  • Veeba Cheese and Jalapeno Dip
  • Cornitos Nacho Crisps, cheese and herbs
  • KurKure Puffcorn, yummy cheese
  • Uncle Chipps, spicy treat
  • Garden Tea Time Puri
  • Makino Corn Twist, tomato
  • Baked Nutella Gujiya
  • Cadbury Nutties

Directions:

  • Take a large plate, tray or board. Place a bowl at the centre of the plate. Fill it with the cheese-jalapeno dip.
  • Arrange all the other snacks on the plate, all around the bowl.
  • Serve immediately! You may have to refill the plate once or twice.
