What is a charcuterie board?

Charcuterie, which is pronounced as “shahr-koo-tuh-ree”, is the art of preparing and assembling cured or smoked meat, cheese, nuts, fruits, spreads etc on a wooden board/tray. These charcuterie boards have become really popular in recent times. Many different versions of this board are being created by people. Like cheese board, dessert board, hot chocolate board, breakfast board etc.

What is a snack board/platter?

A snack board/platter is quite similar to a charcuterie board. It consists of a wide variety of finger foods like chips, dip, nuts, chocolate etc. You can basically add any snack of your choice. These snack boards are an excellent option for house parties. You can build a large or small snack board depending upon the number of guests you’ll be entertaining. It is very easy to assemble, doesn’t take much time, totally fuss-free and you don’t have to cook anything (which is the best part).

Tools for making a snack board:

So to make a snack board you’ll need the following things:

Board/Tray– A serving board or tray is the most important thing in preparing a snack board. You can use a wooden chopping board, a large plate, tray etc. It can be as big or as small as you like.

Bowls– The second thing that you will need is a bowl or a number of bowls. It can be made of glass, ceramic, metal etc. You can serve dips, sauce, chutneys in these bowls.

Other items– Some other things that you may require are small bowls, plates, spoons etc. It totally depends on what you are serving.
