Mocha Milkshake

Mocha milkshake is my all-time favourite summer drink. The combination of chocolate and coffee tastes simply amazing! So this week, I thought about making this indulgent milkshake at home. To make the mocha milkshake, you’ll need, whole milk, cocoa powder, instant coffee powder, ice cubes, sugar and NO ICE CREAM! Yes, that’s right! You won’t be needing ice cream for this recipe. It is so easy to make and yet tastes absolutely divine. Before jumping to the recipe lets check out the health benefits of the drink.

Milk

This recipe uses whole milk which is said to be rich in calcium, protein, vitamin D, vitamin B12 and many other minerals. Apart from being highly nutritious, it also has a very rich consistency. Which helps in making the milkshake thick and creamy.

Coffee

Coffee has numerous health benefits. It boosts energy levels, aids in weight loss, lowers the risk of diabetes and also helps in reducing depression. Coffee is also rich in antioxidants and many beneficial nutrients.

Cocoa Powder

Cocoa powder is loaded with minerals like iron, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, manganese, zinc etc. It is also rich in vitamins like vitamin B6, E and K. In addition to this, it provides antioxidants, dietary fibres, proteins and carbohydrates to the body. In this recipe, I have used unsweetened cocoa powder, which has very fewer calories, it helps in balancing cholesterol, reduces diabetes risk and lessens the risk of a heart attack.

All these ingredients along with a little sugar and chocolate make this drink a pure bliss. Serve it with any snack of your choice, at any time of the day.

Prep Time: 5 min

Serves: 2 people

Ingredients:

  • 3 cups whole or full-fat milk, chilled
  • 1 tbsp instant coffee powder
  • 2 tsp cocoa powder, unsweetened
  • 4 tbsp sugar, castor or powdered
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Any chocolate, for garnishing

Directions:

In a blender jar, add ice cubes, milk, sugar, coffee powder and cocoa powder.

Blend for 2-3 minutes or until everything has combined well.

Mocha Milkshake

Pour it into the serving glasses and sprinkle grated chocolate over the top. Mocha milkshake is ready to serve.

You can also try some other refreshing drinks from my blog, like watermelon and pomegranate mocktail, which is a light and refreshing non-alcoholic cocktail for the summers. Or fizzy pineapple lemonade, a citrusy drink which is perfect for just about every party. And if you like smoothies, try the strawberry banana smoothie, it is a healthy, nutritious and filling summer cooler.

You can serve these drinks with snacks like pizza kachori, which is a crispy cheese and veggie-filled kachori, or try the fried chicken burger, a crispy chicken burger made with the simplest ingredients. And all the egg lovers, you should definitely try the maggi egg devil recipe at least once. You just need 2-ingredients for this!
