A quick and easy eggless chocolate mug cake made in the microwave, under 2 minutes. This mug cake is so soft and fluffy. You will surely love it.

Like my other mug cake recipes, this recipe is also very easy and requires only a few ingredients. For this mug cake, you will need all-purpose flour or maida, cocoa powder, baking powder, brown sugar (I have used Mawana premium soft brown sugar), milk and oil. You can use any oil, just make sure it has a neutral flavour.

Now, in this recipe, I have used brown sugar. It helps in making the cake a little moist and also gives it a rich colour. But if you don’t have brown sugar, then use castor sugar. Just don’t use granulated sugar. As it might not melt properly while baking.

So you can see, this is a really easy microwave mug cake. You don’t need butter, eggs, condensed milk, curd or vinegar to make this. With just a few simple ingredients, a mug and a microwave, you can make a super yummy chocolate cake in under 2 minutes. Try it today!

About this recipe:

Mug – Always use a microwave-proof mug for this recipe. Here I have used a 300ml ceramic microwavable mug. If you are using a smaller mug, then adjust the quantity of the ingredients accordingly.

Microwave – Every microwave has a different output wattage. The cooking time will change depending upon the wattage of your microwave. Here I have cooked this mug cake in a 900W microwave and it took 1 minute 40 seconds. But if you have a 1200W microwave then the cake will cook in less time, like for example under 1 minute. So you must check the wattage of your microwave before you make this recipe.

Prep Time: 1 min | Bake Time: 1 min 40 sec | Total Time: 2 min 40 sec

Serves: 1 person

Ingredients:

  • 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ¼+⅛ tsp baking powder
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar (or use castor sugar)
  • 6 tbsp milk, room temperature
  • 3 tbsp oil

Cooking Directions:

In a microwave-safe mug, add all-purpose flour, cocoa powder and baking powder. Using a fork, combine everything together.

Then add brown sugar, milk and oil. Give it a good mix. And make sure there are no lumps.

Then microwave it for 1 minute. Take it out and check the texture of the cake. If it feels fluffy or springy to the touch. Then it’s done!

If not, then microwave it in 10-second intervals until fully baked. But don’t overdo it. As it might become too dry or burn.

I have a 900W microwave, and it took 1 minute and 40 seconds to bake this mug cake.

Take it out of the microwave. Let it cool down a little. Then it is ready to serve!
