Learn how to make this easy fizzy Turkish lassi recipe at home for Iftar. If you like doodh cola, then you should definitely try this one! This is a fizzy mint-flavoured lassi or yogurt drink inspired by the Turkish yogurt-based drink known as Ayran. Trust me, this drink is so flavourful. And I think it is the most refreshing drink I have ever made!

Ayran is served chilled with grilled meat or rice, especially during summer. It is made by mixing yogurt with chilled water and is sometimes carbonated and seasoned with mint.

This yogurt drink is called by many other names, like in Iran, Ayran is called Doogh. In Afghanistan, it is called Dogh. In Albania, it is known as Dhallë. In Cyprus, it is known as Ayrani. In India, the local variant is called Chaas, Taak or Lassi. In Pakistan, Ayran is sometimes called Namkeen Lassi.

There are many variations. Some people add salt, black pepper, dried mint, and lime juice. Some like to add diced cucumbers. That provides a crunchy texture to the beverage. Some varieties of Ayran are carbonated, like the one I have shared today. Hope you like this recipe and don’t forget to share your thoughts on it.
